Apple just reported its Q1 2019 earnings (calendar Q4 2018), its first release without disclosing unit sales data. The company reported revenue of $84.3 billion, with profit of $19.97 billion. Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at KGI securities is today reporting that they believe the iPhone 7 Plus will come with a dual-camera system option with Linx camera technology Apple acquired last year. By using two distinct lenses, Apple can use the additional image data to create substantially better quality photos. Apple is said to be accelerating the product pipeline for new Mac laptops. Following the warm reception to the 16-inch MacBook Pro, reliable Ming-Chi Kuo now expects Apple to deliver new MacBook Air and new MacBook Pro models in the second quarter. This means the butterfly keyboard will have flown away on all of Apple’s products by June. The Nikkei Asian Review is reporting that Apple will launch its iWatch in October, rather than alongside the iPhone 6 in September as has been widely expected. It’s also citing unnamed “industry sources” as saying that the watch will have a curved, OLED touchscreen and that Apple is planning on producing 3-5M units a month. As explained in court documents filed in the Texas Eastern court this week, and available here, the case alleges HP and Apple infringed against the CWC-held United States Patent No. 5,615,342, entitled “Electronic Proposal Preparation System,” which was issued on March 25, 1997 and US Patent No. 5,367,627, “Computer-Assisted Parts Sales Method”, itself issued November 22, 1994.
