Pictures’ upcoming film slate for 2017 includes more shared universe installments (not all of them of the DC superhero variety), as well as a potential franchise starter in the form of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. The King Arthur retelling is co-written and directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) and stars Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim) as a young Arthur - who, in this version of the legend, has been living for years as a member of a street gang, when he then pulls Excalibur from the stone and discovers the truth about his noble destiny....

Korean news site MK Business News (via Reuters) is reporting that Samsung will make 75% of the A9 chip for the next iPhone. This matches an earlier detailed prediction by KGI Research, which stated that the balance of the chips would be made by Global Foundry, and is in line with a statement by Samsung which last year confirmed it as a major supplier of the new chip. The Samsung-fabbed chips will, says the report, be made in the USA … MK Business News says that Samsung will make the chips in its plant in Austin, Texas....

Actor-turned-filmmaker Macon Blair is taking the reins to write and direct a reboot of the cult classic film Toxic Avenger.
