Apple analyst KGI Ming-Chi Kuo today released a report indicating Apple will launch a new version of AirPods in the second half of 2018. The analyst does not go into much detail about what exactly will change in the next-generation model, however he notes that they will adopt a smaller quartz component. Apple has already announced a new AirPower inductive charging case for next year. It seems that Apple may also be lining up a small update to the earbuds, if KGI’s reporting proves accurate....

In a new report from KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo, the usually accurate analyst estimates that global pre-orders for the Apple Watch will top 2.3 million units through May. A new batch of photos appearing on the Weibo social network claim to show new production schematics and die for manufacturing the body of the iPhone 6 inside a Foxoconn facility, as noted by GforGames. A few of the photos (below) definitely show some sort of technical design documents, though we can’t be sure what they show as they are both incredibly technical and written in Chinese. IBM has confirmed several of its major enterprise products are affected by the Log4j bug. On Thursday, the company confirmed that the IBM Db2 Warehouse, which uses Log4j, allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system. Log4j is used in the Db2 Federation feature. IBM has released a special fix pack and mitigation notes for Db2 version 11.5 systems that are vulnerable if certain Federation features are configured....
