How to fix Logitech Wireless Keyboard MK270 not connecting?
Initially, we will start with simple solutions and then move on to the more elaborate ones.
Restart your computer:
If you encounter the issue for the first time after using the device for a while, you do not need to worry. Sometimes when Windows stays on for a long time, it develops certain inconsistencies within the software. This happens due to third-party applications like antivirus programs that significantly affect the system. In such a case, you can try a system reboot. A complete reboot is sometimes enough as a solution.
If the reboot does not fix your Logitech Wireless Keyboard MK270 problem, move on to the next possible solution.
Check the battery:
Wireless devices need a battery to function correctly. Some keyboards are chargeable via USB ports, while some use batteries as an energy source. The Logitech MK270 uses batteries, and if they are out of power, the keyboard won’t work. In some rare scenarios, the batteries provided in the keyboard’s retail box can be dead. You need to change them right away and check whether that helps with your problem. You can find AAA batteries in any departmental store near your house.
If changing the batteries does not help with the keyboard connectivity issue, try the next solution.
Ensure the connection is direct:
If you have the USB receiver connected to a USB port on a USB hub, you need to remove it. The USB receiver needs to be connected to the PC’s USB directly to function without any problem. The Hub that you are using could be incompatible with the keyboard or damaged to some extent. So, remove any hub if you are using one, and then connect the receiver directly to the PC.
If this does not help with your problem, move on to the following solution.
Change the USB port:
If you use the USB receiver only on one particular USB port, you need to change it. There are multiple USB ports present in almost every PC. So, make use of them and try the other ports as well.
If you cannot get it to work even after trying other USB ports, move on to the next solution.
Reinstall keyboard drivers
Windows automatically installs the drivers for most devices when connected to the system. When the USB receiver of the Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard was connected for the first time, it did the same on your PC. But sometimes, that installation can have some inconsistencies. To fix that, you need to reinstall the keyboard drivers.
Press the Windows Key + X and choose Device Manager from the options.
In the Device Manager window, find keyboards.
Double-click on it once you find it, and the list of installed keyboard drivers will show up.
Here, you will find the Logitech MK270 keyboard as well. Once you see it, right-click on it and choose Uninstall device.

- The Uninstall Device window will show up. Click on the Uninstall button, and the device will be removed from the computer.
- Now, go back to the Device Manager window and right-click on keyboards.
- Then select the Scan for hardware changes option. This will install the drivers for your keyboard again. Just do not disconnect the keyboard from your computer during the entire process.
Try the next solution if the reinstallation also does not fix the keyboard issue.
Update keyboard drivers:
Windows need up-to-date drivers to stay compatible with every possible device out there. So if you are on outdated drivers, update the keyboard drivers right away. That might solve your problem with the Logitech MK270 keyboard not connecting issue.
There are three ways to update a driver. You can do it automatically, manually, or using a third-party application.
To do it automatically, you can use Windows device manager.
Press and hold Windows Key + X and choose “Device Manager” from the list of options.
In the Device Manager window, find keyboards.
Double-click on it once you find it, and the list of installed keyboard drivers will show up.
Here, you will find the Logitech MK270 keyboard as well. Once you see it, right-click on it and choose “Update driver.”
Choose “Search automatically for updated driver software.”
Follow the on-screen instructions and install the driver update that shows up.
You need to visit the Logitech support website for the manual process and look for the driver setup file. It will be like any other software installation file. Once you find the setup file, install it on your computer as with any other application.
Besides these two methods, you also have a third option. You can install a third-party driver utility tool on your computer, and it will automatically scan your computer for any outdated or missing drivers. It will also install the latest drivers on your computer with a simple click. However, these utility software tools usually have a price tag. But the price is well worth it as you don’t need to worry about drivers on your computer even again.
Try the next solution if updating the drivers does not solve your problem.
Run keyboard Troubleshooter:
There is a utility feature called troubleshooter built into the Windows operating system. Windows is aware that its users might face some issues while using the system, so they have included this feature that scans the system for possible problems and then tries to fix them. Even with the keyboard not working correctly, one can use the troubleshooter to try and fix it.
Press Windows Key + X and choose “Settings” from the list of options.
Click on “Update & Security.”
Then in the Update & Security settings Window, click on the Troubleshoot tab in the left pane.
You will find the “Keyboard” option in the right pane. Click on it and then click on “Run the troubleshooter.”
Now let Windows scan the entire system for any possible issue behind this. If it detects a problem, it will show up on the screen, and the troubleshoot will try to fix it. If it can’t find the fix, it will at least show the issue behind the problem, and then you can fix it on your own.
When the solution is provided, click on the “Apply this fix” option, and the troubleshooter will take care of the rest.
Restart the computer.
If the troubleshooter did not find any problems, or the fix did not solve your keyboard issue, try the next solution mentioned below.
Update Windows:
Now you can try updating the Windows to the latest version on your computer. Windows pushes out updates for its users from time to time, and most of these updates fix existing problems in the system. Even with your Logitech keyboard, it could be a compatibility issue. So check for any new Windows updates on your computer, and install it if you see a pending update.
Once the update is downloaded, restart the PC and check whether your issue with the keyboard is resolved or not.
If updating the Windows to the latest version does not help, move on to the final solution mentioned below.
Contact Logitech support:
After trying all the solutions mentioned above, if you are still experiencing problems with the keyboard, the problem could be with the keyboard’s hardware. Use your keyboard on your friend’s computer and check whether it works there. Suppose it does not, then you have your answer. There is indeed a problem with the keyboard’s hardware, and in that case, a replacement or a repair is your only option.
If your keyboard is under warranty, you can visit your nearest Logitech service center, and they will help you out.
