Batman. The very name is likely to garner cheers from many, as the Caped Crusader is no doubt one of the most popular superheroes in history. From his sleek black suit, to his amazing gadgets, to his badass car, Batman is truly one cool dude, at least on the superficial level. Naturally, Batman has long been a staple of the film world, dating back to the 1966 movie that served as a theatrical expansion to the classic Adam West/Burt Ward TV series.
In 2014, a new wrinkle was added into the Batman film landscape via the introduction of LEGO Batman in 2014’s The LEGO Movie. A massive hit both critically and financially, The LEGO Movie proved to be a true pop culture phenomenon, but arguably no character emerged from the film more beloved than the aforementioned blocky version of the Dark Knight. Thus, it was far from a surprise when a LEGO Batman spin-off movie was quickly greenlit, with comic actor Will Arnett (Arrested Development) set to return as the voice of the titular character.
With the highly anticipated release of The LEGO Batman Movie now less than a month away, Warner Bros. Pictures has teamed up with Chevrolet to create one heck of a promotional tie-in: A life-size replica of the LEGO Batmobile. As cool as the car itself is though, Chevrolet took things a step further, releasing a tongue-in-cheek commercial promoting the LEGO Batmobile as if it were going to be sold to the public. Of course, Batman himself is part of the focus group brought in to look it over. The full parody commercial can be seen above. Check out more detailed looks at the Batmobile in the gallery below:

The 17-foot LEGO Batmobile replica was created by students, in conjunction with A World in Motion and First LEGO League, and was unveiled to the public earlier today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. In addition to the above ad parody, Chevrolet even went as far as to put a full minisite for the car online, featuring lots of amusing details.
For one, the listed MSRP for the LEGO Batmobile is a cool $48 million, although that price does include a “flaming rocket booster” and “parallel park mode.” Also included is 4G LTE Wifi connectivity, presumably for those times Batman needs to check his email between punching LEGO villains in the face. Sadly, as the fine print on the site confirms, the “product and all specifications are fictitious.” For now, driving any type of Batmobile will have to remain only the stuff of fantasy.
