We are just a few months away from the official launch of the new Android OS, the Android Q and yet, some of the previous year devices have not seen the light of the Android 9.0 Pie. However, LG has now crossed another smartphone from the list of devices waiting for the Android 9 Pie update, as the T-mobile LG G7 ThinQ gets the Android 9 update.

This update took a long time to reach the T-Mobile LG G7 ThinQ but, it is better late than never. The update size is around 1522.1MB or 1.5GB and is knocking the doors of the T-mobile LG G7 ThinQ as an over the air update. According to one of the readers of the TmoNews, Chuck, he has already received the update on his smartphone and he shared a screenshot as shown below;

However, surprisingly neither LG nor T-Mobile has shared any official changelog for this update. But, it is expected to fix some of the issues that the users where facing and also a new security patch will be coming along with this update. We expect it to be the July 2019 Security Patch but, we need to wait for the official changelog to tell us that. Moreover, this update will be coming to all the T-mobile LG G7 ThinQ users in a week or two and if you want to check for the update manually, then you can head to your phone’s Settings » General » Update Center » System Update menu.

But, we have seen the Verizon LG G7 ThinQ Android 9 Pie update and, if this update is anywhere like the Android 9 update like the Verizon one then, we could see some of the features like the option to use Home touch buttons with gestures like swiping up to switch to your app drawer and swiping right to go to your most recent app. Also, we could also see a Part Slo-mo that lets you record a video with up to five scenes in slow motion. But, it is not confirmed via an official changelog.

If you have already received the Android 9 Pie Update on your T-Mobile LG G7 ThinQ device then, please do let us know in the comments below and do let us know all the improvements that it brings along with this new update.
