On Keeping Up with the Kardashians, it was revealed that Kylie Jenner is to thank for picking out Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s fourth baby’s name - Psalm West. After not being able to decide herself, Kylie was the one who convinced Kim that Psalm was the right name for the baby.
Since their show first aired in 2007, the Kardashian family has been entertaining the reality TV audiences, with Kim at the center of it all. The beauty mogul married rapper Kanye West in 2014, which was featured on season 9 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Currently, the couple has four children - North, 6, Saint, 3, followed by daughter Chicago, 20-months, and four-month-old Psalm. Kim had both North and Saint but then turned to surrogacy for Chicago and Psalm, due to Kim suffering from placenta accreta during her two pregnancies. Just as Psalm was to be born via surrogate, Kim and Kanye hadn’t decided on a name.
Thanks to auntie Kylie who pulled through last-minute with the baby naming. Psalm’s arrival came very sudden, after concerns of a potential breach birth, he was ready to come out. In the episode (via Us Weekly), Kim is frantically trying to get ahold of Kanye as she commutes to the hospital where the surrogate is already checked into. Kim eventually got ahold of Kanye and according to Kim the surrogate “had the easiest delivery.” She went onto explain, “She pushed literally maybe one time.” Kim explained that both Kanye and Kourtney were present in the room during the birth.
Kim and Kanye revealed that the unique biblical name, Psalm, was chosen by her youngest sister Kylie. While trying to decide on the right name, Kim and Kanye wanted a name that could be shortened to “Ye” after Kanye’s rap name, brand, and nickname “Yeezy” though that became a harder and harder to find as time went on. They were going to settle for “Ye,” but Kanye didn’t like that the name didn’t mean anything. Kim explained, “So we looked up every name in the bible that had ‘ye’ in it.” But ultimately, it was Kylie who made the final decision on the name, Kim said, “Kylie called at the last moment and said, ‘No. Psalm and Saint sound good together.’” The parents decided that Psalm fit their fourth child, and Kim even revealed that his nickname around the house now is “Psalm Ye.”
Though Kim and Kanye were over the moon in love with Psalm, Kim had also revealed on the episode that she doesn’t feel the need to have anymore and that she feels perfectly complete with four children. Though, if Kanye has any say, that might not be the case as he’s already expressed that he’d like to have more children.
